Chocolate Stout by Thea Colman

Chocolate stout, number 3 of the perfect cardigans is complete. Now is it perfect? It is lovely to wear and very warm. It also fits all the criteria for the perfect cardigan so I’m happy with it. I wish I could have forked out for the plucky yarn, but the Kathmandu was pleasant to knit although it did have bits of straw throughout and Smudge could bite through it very easily.

Pattern: Chocolate Stout by Thea Colman

Yarn: Queensland Collection Kathmandu Aran in charcoal

Needles: 4.5mm

The only modification I made was to add 3 more button holes down the front. The pattern says do 3-4 button holes, but when I’d sewn the buttons on it just didn’t look like enough, so I added 3 more after thought button holes (snipping a stitch undoing a bit and sewing it back together).

The buttons I purchased from LoveButtons on folksy, and although I thought I’d ordered circular buttons, they are actually oval which is stated clearly in the description so I’m just blind! Anyway that doesn’t matter because the colour is perfect and the overall look is really good.
