Pearl by Di Gilpin

18th November 2013 : knitting - jumpers - project
Pearl by Di Gilpin

9th and probably last adult sweater of the year, this is Pearl, which was in my Knitting Magazine. I thought I would knit it for one of my sisters, but they weren't too keen so I just knit it anyway. I actually really like the finished article, but it was a bit of a chore to get there. Partly because the pattern in the magazine was full of errors (and I'm still waiting for the correct version to be sent to me) and partly because I'm not a huge fan of knitting lacey stuff, I much prefer knitting cables.

The yarn is ice yarns folk tweed. I'm a fan of this yarn apart from it's fragile nature - it seems easily broken when bitten by a cat, and the smell - very oily, however it blocks out to be really nice and I'm loving the colour of it too.

I made the sleeves too long, but I'm happy about that, usually they are too short. This was photographed by James on a longer than anticipated walk around the Breacon Beacons in Wales where it didn't rain!
